5 Fights to Make After UFC 300

After the massive success of UFC 300 last weekend the only way to go from here for the ultimate fighting championship and owner Dana white is up. Here are five fights I would like to see in the near future.

Deiveson Figueiredo vs Marlon Vera

Figueiredo and Vera would be an exciting and compelling matchup. Both fighters are known for their aggressive fighting styles and ability to finish fights. Figueiredo, the reigning UFC flyweight champion, has proven himself to be a dominant force in the division with his knockout power and submission skills. Vera, on the other hand, has shown his versatility and toughness in the bantamweight division, with a string of impressive wins against top contenders. A fight between Figueiredo and Vera would have significant implications for both fighters in their respective divisions. Figueiredo, who has been dominant in the flyweight division, could use a win over a tough opponent like Vera to solidify his status as one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world. A win for Vera over the flyweight champion would undoubtedly elevate his status in the bantamweight division and potentially earn him another title shot.

Ilia Topuria vs Max Holloway

A showdown between Holloway and Topuria would be a clash of titans, displaying the best of striking in MMA. Both fighters bring their own unique skill sets to the table, making it a highly anticipated matchup for fans.  Max Holloway's experience in high-pressure situations and his ability to control the pace of the fight would be a factor to consider. His striking precision and volume could pose significant challenges for Topuria. However, Topuria's explosiveness and power, as demonstrated in his fights, particularly his recent victory over Gaethje, cannot be underestimated.  The battle would revolve around who can impose their game plan more effectively. Holloway's footwork and ability to maintain distance could frustrate Topuria's aggressive style, while Topuria's strength and tenacity might test Holloway's defensive capabilities.

Bobby Green vs Paddy Pimblett

A matchup between Bobby Green and Paddy Pimblett would be a thrilling addition to any card, especially one in the UK where Pimblett's fan base would be out in force. Both fighters bring not only their skills inside the cage but also their personalities, making for an electric atmosphere leading up to the fight. Green's unorthodox striking and slick footwork would provide a unique challenge for Pimblett, who himself is known for his creative striking game.Pimblett's grappling prowess could give him the edge if the fight hits the ground. His submission game is particularly dangerous, and he has shown a knack for finding opportunities to capitalize on opponents' mistakes. The stakes would be high for both fighters, as a win could catapult them up the rankings in the highly competitive lightweight division. It's the kind of matchup that could potentially steal the show, both inside the Octagon and during the lead-up with their colorful personalities on display. MMA fans would be eagerly anticipating this clash of styles and personalities.

Alex Pereira vs Tom Aspinall

Both fighters bring a combination of speed, power, and high-level striking that could result in fireworks inside the Octagon. While Aspinall may not be in immediate contention for a title shot, a bout against Pereira presents an exciting opportunity for him to prove himself against a dangerous opponent. Pereira, on the other hand, could use this fight as a steppingstone to assert himself further in his division or potentially explore opportunities in a higher weight class. The contrast in styles between Aspinall's technical approach and Pereira's explosive, unorthodox striking would make for an intriguing matchup. Both fighters have shown a willingness to engage and finish fights, which could lead to an action-packed affair with Fight of the Year potential. Given their respective skill sets and ambitions, a showdown between Aspinall and Pereira would undoubtedly attract attention from fans and pundits alike. It's the kind of matchup that epitomizes the excitement and unpredictability of MMA.

Jamahal Hill vs Jiri Prochazka

Hill fighting Jiri Prochazka would be a great opportunity for Jamahal Hill to test himself against a top contender in the division. Prochazka is known for his unorthodox striking style and aggressive approach, which would provide Hill with a unique challenge that he may not have faced before. By stepping into the octagon with Prochazka, Hill would have the chance to prove himself against one of the best in the division and display his own skills and abilities. A fight with Jiri Prochazka could help elevate Jamahal Hill's profile within the UFC. Prochazka is a fan-favorite fighter with a proven track record of exciting performances, and a win over him would undoubtedly help solidify Hill's status as a rising star in the division.
